Baby boy, three months old. Tired,
distended stomach, cried and screamed for five days, the baby’s
mother though being supported by her mother was desperate for some relief.
Possible causes.
Had colic more or less since being
given milk supplements.
Bowen Treatment.
Four Bowen moves over the muscles
on either side of the spine (T4), and a move over the xyphoid process
on the chest, the last move being difficult to apply duet to his swollen
stomach. Time to treat, about thirty seconds.
Response to the treatment.
He immediately after the treatment
exhibited ‘possetting’ (curdled milk dribbling from the mouth).
Otherwise there was apparently no other immediate response.
Comments.
Telephone call three days later
to the mother.
He has not been too bad, two really
good nights, he appears to be having difficulty in going to the toilet,
and would I treat him again?
Second treatment.
I was told that he was a lot better,
getting his wind up better, nappies normal, stomach gurgling. Now being
fed on baby rice and milk.
I told them that the baby did not
want another treatment, but this seemed to concern them, so very light
moves were applied.
This, as I expected, did not give
any response from the baby, but the mother admitted that after I had left
after the first treatment he did nothing but fill his nappy, which was
the release that I had been looking for!
