POST VIRAL FATIGUE SYNDROMEC.F.S.
CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROMEThere
are case study notes but these will not be released as they relate to a specific
ME support group and are therefore identifiable. My
observations are that the condition is highly variable, reluctantly diagnosed
by the medical profession, and in their eyes, without a blunderbuss pill, difficult
to treat. I have had a positive
response with the minimum of Bowen moves, but I have also had negative responses,
which bordered on the accusative. Because
of the frustration in dealing with an outwardly healthy person, low level abuse
such as bullying is not uncommon. Though this may only be the sort of pull
yourself together, its all in your mind type it is not something one wants
to hear when in a weakened state. Physically
they have reduced muscle tone, wastage of some muscles, and possible impairment
of the lymph drainage system due to lack of muscular action. To rebuild up from
this base line is difficult, particularly where the energy levels are depleted. Any
improvement is slow, with remission onset time being highly variable from patient
to patient. This adds to the uncertainty of prescribing a definitive treatment.
Each patient is unique; there are only generalised patterns. Consult
